Not all classes need everything on this list and we can improvise if something is missing!
Classes typically begin between 7:30-8 a.m. and conclude between 4:30 and 5 p.m. with a one hour lunch break. The Cooper Institute staff normally teaches Monday thru Thursday with ½ day Friday consisting of practical, verbal, and written tests. Some classes can range from 2-5 days in length. Schedules can be adapted to meet Your Site’s needs. Schedules and equipment needs vary according to the class you host.
Casual clothes, exercise clothes and shoes, calculator, writing materials, and current CPR.
The Cooper Institute staff schedules their own travel. We are happy to stay where you recommend and usually need a rental car. We like to arrive the evening prior to the workshop and meet with you the morning of the first day of class. Please provide us with directions and any special information concerning your facility. For example, when our instructors are traveling internationally or staying on a military base, travel orders are usually required. We like to stay in military lodging when it’s available.
Two to three months lead time is preferred for preparation and travel. Generally, The Cooper Institute staff will need “travel orders” when traveling to an international military installation. Proper email, address, phone, and fax number are also vital, including a street address for shipping supplies and materials.
The Cooper Institute prefers to ship course manuals and supplies prior to the start date. Host clients can choose to hand out these materials on the first day of class or distribute earlier for pre-course studying. The Institute also ships teaching materials which need to be secured until the workshop begins. All boxes will be marked.
An additional per student fee applies when more than 30 students are enrolled. Hosting a course is very cost effective. You can charge a fee for other agencies who attend. Call for more financial information.
Students can receive continuing education credit (CEC) from national certification organizations. This information will be given to students at the class. Additionally, college graduate credit is available for specific courses.
Because of our years of experience working with Host clients, we are happy to provide proven marketing ideas. We also would love to list your course on our web site. This is a great way to inform interested students where off-campus courses are taking place.
